Summary

Unarguably the best edition yet! All 300 plus anatomical images have been re-drawn in full color, offering you a more clear and accurate understanding of the classical framework of the speech, language, and hearing systems. The content remains organized separately by anatomy and physiology in order to facilitate your learning experience.

Features:

* Experience the classic systems three dimensionally with animations that explore the processes of hearing, phonation, respiration, swallowing, and more!
* New and expanded content on the effects of aging, neuroimaging, the DIVA model, and other topics.
* Clinical Notes boxes provide a broader context for key content, demonstrating clinical applications of important concepts

Author Bio

J. Anthony (Tony) Seikel is on faculty at Idaho State University in Pocatello, Idaho. His research interests center on the relationship of pathology to acoustics and perception, but extend as well to the improvement of pedagogy through technology.

Douglas W. King was a professor within the Basic Medical program at Washington State University until the time of his death in 2001. He was greatly loved by his students and fellow faculty, and had set up a scholarship program in anatomy for students with diabetes.

David G. Drumright is a programmer and teacher in Spokane, Washington. He has taught electronics at numerous schools, and has a background in speech-language pathology and audiology. His software includes the original ANIMA programs of this text; the new ANATESSE application that you see in this fourth edition; AUDIN, which is software for instruction in audiology; and numerous smaller instructional tools.
