Knight, Kenneth L. :
A nationally recognized leader in athletic training education, Kenneth L. Knight has served as an athletic trainer for high school, junior college, and college teams for over 20 years and as an athletic training educator since 1973. He is a professor of physical education at Indiana State University, where he is also director of the Graduate Athletic Training Program and coordinator of the Sports Injury Research Laboratory.
As editor of Athletic Training: The Journal of the National Athletic Trainers Association since 1986, Ken has helped promote communication, continuing education, and professionalism among athletic trainers. He is also the author of Cryotherapy: Theory, Technique and Physiology, the definitive work on the subject.
''This text is long overdue, as the profession of athletic training enters the 90s, we can no longer leave our skill development and pre-certification preparation to the ''hit and miss'' approach of the past. It is forms of written work by experienced members of our profession, such as Dr. Knight, which will serve as a medium to bring us to a higher level in the allied medical world. I strongly recommend this text for all levels of the profession. ''
''Clinical Experiences in Athletic Training is exactly the program we have been looking for at Montana State University. We feel that the practical experience our students gain at MSU is a very positive aspect of our program. Along with this practical experience, we have been looking for a program that would be a guide to our students in their personal study. We feel this book is an excellent guide as well as a way to evaluate an individual students level of competencies and understanding.''
