Davidson, Roger H. : University of Maryland College Park

Roger H. Davidson is Professor of Government and Politics at the University of Maryland, College Park. A former senior specialist at the Congressional Research Service, he also served on House and Senate committee staffs and continues to advise members and outside groups on congressional organization. His sixteen books include Remaking Congress: Change and Stability in the 1990s, co-edited with James A. Thurber (CQ Press, 1995), and Understanding the Presidency, Second Edition, co-edited with James P. Pfiffner (Longman, 1999). Davidson is co-editor with Donald C. Bacon and Morton Keller of The Encyclopedia of the United States Congress (Simon and Schuster, 1995).


Oleszek, Walter J. : Congressional Research Service

Walter J. Oleszek is senior specialist in American national government at the Congressional Research Service. In 1993, he served as policy director of the Joint Committee on the Organization of Congress. He is an adjunct professor of political science at American University and a frequent lecturer on political affairs. Oleszek is the author of several books, including Congressional Procedures and the Policy Process, Fourth Edition(CQ Press, 1995), and is co-author with C. Lawrence Evans of Congress Under Fire: Reform Politics and the Republican Majority (Houghton Mifflin, 1997).
