Summary

This new edition reflects the dynamic nature of disability law with its inclusion and discussion of all relevant Supreme Court cases decided since the prior edition. As most of the judiciary's activity has focused on the American with Disabilities Act, so does this edition.
Despite the inclusion of all new Supreme Court cases addressing disability issues, such as Toyota (definition of major like activity) and Waffle House (impact of arbitration agreements on EEOC proceedings), the author has kept the length of the book manageable. Many of the lower court cases from the 2nd edition have been further edited in the new edition or converted to Notes in order to highlight newer case law.

While the ADA receives substantial attention throughout, the text allows students to understand the interrelationship of other disability discrimination laws in areas of special education, housing and air carrier access. And while most of the Court's recent ADA decisions have focused on employment issues, many significant developments have also occurred in areas of public accommodations and higher education.

The book is also kept up-to-date between editions with supplementation.
