Author Bio

Kershul, Kristine K. :

Kristine K. Kershul created and wrote the first book in the Series, GERMAN in 10 minutes a day®. She authored all other titles in the Series in conjunction with specialists in those languages that included educators, translators and native speakers.

Kristine is a native of Oregon and earned her master's degree from the University of California at Santa Barbara. She did her doctoral work at the University of Washington in Seattle, specializing in German Medieval Languages and Literature. Kristine did her undergraduate studies in Heidelberg, Germany and has taught German language and literature at universities in both Germany and the United States. During the six years she lived in Germany she also served as a translator at the U.S. Embassy in Bonn.

To finance her education, Kristine worked for a number of years as a bilingual travel guide, which gave her the opportunity to travel the world. She saw the need for a language instruction method that would not intimidate and not frustrate students. She knew it needed to be practical and as convenient as possible.
