Whether you need to understand the rules of the National Electrical Code (NEC) for an examination or to put them to work on the job, you'll quickly find that the Guide to the National Electrical Code is the most effective way to learn. Author Thomas L. Harman, electrical engineer, master electrician, and longtime NEC classroom instructor, has filled the Guide to the National Electrical Code with material proven both in the classroom and in the field. Equally suitable for self-study or as a course textbook, this book explains the NEC in detail, even down to including cross-references in the margin of all NEC articles discussed throughout the book.

For easy reference, Harman includes chart and table summaries of all NEC rules. There are also dozens of solved examples of designs and installations that apply to installers, designers, inspectors, and students, as well as detailed calculations for every NEC rule applying to wiring design. Each chapter contains quizzes and an examination, and several final exams present just the type of questions you're likely to see on typical electrical exams. To help in your study, detailed solutions are provided for all quizzes and exams. Regardless of your reason for studying the NEC, Harman covers all the theory, practical information, and code specifics to make sure you'll accomplish your objectives. Of course, this edition includes all the important changes in the 2002 NEC, so you know you'll be up to date.
