Whittenburg, Gerald E. : San Diego State University

Gerald E. Whittenburg is a Professor in the School of Accountancy at San Diego State University. A graduate of the University of Houston, Dr. Whittenburg's teaching and research interests include individual and corporate taxation, pension plans, and tax research methodology. Dr. Whittenburg is an author of West's Federal Tax Research and West's Income Tax Fundamentals. In addition, he has published articles in such journals as the Journal of Taxation, Taxation for Accountants, Taxes, Journal of Taxation of Investments, Journal of Taxation of Employee Benefits, and Journal of Accounting Education. Professor Whittenburg's professional designations include Certified Public Accountant (CPA) and Certified Management Accountant (CMA). He has received numerous teaching awards, including the Trustee's Outstanding Faculty Award for the entire California State University System.


Altus-Buller, Martha : San Diego, California

Martha Altus-Buller is a CPA with her own tax practice in San Diego, California. She holds a BA in Mathematics from the University of California at San Diego and a MS in Accounting from San Diego State University. Her practical experience includes work as a tax manager for one of the "Big Six" accounting firms, and well over a decade of full time practice in tax accounting.
