Author Bio

Michael E. Milakovich is professor of political science at the University of Miami, Coral Gables, Florida. A life member of the American Society for Public Administration, he serves as an expert witness in state and federal courts and advises public and nonprofit organizations on policy analysis and quality improvement strategies. He is a member of the board of directors of the National Center for Public Productivity. His articles have appeared in the ''American Review of Public Administration,'' ''International Public Management Review,'' ''Public Administration,'' ''National Civic Review,'' and the ''Journal of Health and Human Resource Administration.'' He is the author of IMPROVING SERVICE QUALITY IN THE GLOBAL ECONOMY (2006), FLORIDA STATE AND LOCAL GOVERNMENT (1993), and U.S. VS. CRIME IN THE STREETS, with Tom and Tania Cronin (1981). He has consulted with various judicial, governmental, and health care agencies both in the United States and abroad.
