Sara L. C. Mackenzie completed medical school at the University of California-Davis and residency in family medicine at the University of Washington in Seattle. She obtained a master's degree in public health from the University of Washington. Dr. Mackenzie provides care for families in all stages of their lives, with a special emphasis on adolescents and young adults. She has taught students'in large and small groups'about health, wellness, and illness, developed health curricula, organized conferences to enhance communication between youth and health practitioners, and served on community committees working with youth and young adults at risk. Dr. Mackenzie is actively engaged with the Washington State Partnership for Youth, a coalition evaluating and making policy recommendations regarding the health needs of youth. She is currently a clinical assistant professor at the University of Washington, holding a joint appointment in campus health and family medicine. Her husband, Paul, and two young daughters, Lila and Sydda, fill her life with laughter and balance. Sara and Paul are active locally, coaching youth track at the community center and playing capture-the-flag with their own and neighborhood children..
