Summary

The exercises in this manual are a collection of classroom exercises based on Kiswahili misingi ya kusema, kusoma, na kuandika by Thomas J. Hinnebusch and Sara Mirza (1979). Each lesson in this manual parallels the same in Hinnebusch and Mirza text. In addition, after every five or six lessons there is a review lesson specified as Marudio "revision exercises." The exercises in each lesson are intended to drill specific structures in their practical application. Each lesson contains grammatical structure exercises to help the student in sentence building, comprehension, and composition exercises. The question-answer exercises help the student to become more independent in formulating answers without considering specific contexts. Also includes a section to introduce the student to letter writing. A Swahili/English and English/Swahili dictionary at the end of the book provides vocabulary that matches the Hinnebusch and Mirza textbook with a few additional new words used in some of the exercises.
