In addition to the book's four-chapter introduction to reading and writing, each rhetorical chapter provides an introduction that shows students how to use a particular strategy to make their writing more effective and how to establish purpose, context, point of view, and organizational structure. Each rhetorical chapter also includes writing suggestions that focus both on the dominant strategy and on combining strategies.
